Hours after Elon Musk stated that his Twitter buyout was temporarily , Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal addressed yesterday’s leadership shakeup which resulted in two senior Twitter executives.

The move was controversial not only because they were long-standing leaders at Twitter, but also because many people don’t believe Agrawal will keep his job as CEO after the acquisition. Musk stated that he doesn’t trust Twitter’s current leadership, and reports suggest that will assume the CEO role at most temporarily. )

“Changes that impact people are always difficult,” Agrawal stated. Some have asked why a CEO who is a “lame duck” would make these changes, if they were getting acquired. The short answer to this question is simple: I expect the deal will close. However, we must be ready for all possible scenarios and do what’s best for Twitter .

Agrawal’s comments seem to suggest that he acknowledges the possibility of Musk’s purchase not going through.
