All performers are at risk because of the decision by George Gascon, Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon to treat Dave Chappelle’s alleged attacker using kid gloves.

Just as he was wrapping up his set at the Hollywood Bowl last week, a man named Isaiah Lee allegedly jumped on the stage and attacked the comedian. According to police, Lee had a switchblade . in his possession.

Lee has pled innocent to the lenient charge Gascon did bother to file, and lenient doesn’t begin to describe it. Gascon accused Lee of assaulting a man with a deadly weapon, and then trying to pull the weapon on Chappelle’s security personnel.

If Lee is convicted, the maximum he faces is 18 months in jail and a $4,000 fine.

The police charged Lee with a felony — assault with a deadly weapon, which is exactly what this was. Gascon, however, chose to ignore the misdemeanors.

What’s more, Lee’s bail was set at a measly $30,000, which means $3,000 will put him back on the street. Chappelle’s legal team filed for and received a restraining orders against Lee immediately.

Gascon explains that he couldn’t find any animosity toward Chappelle in the past. Isn’t it enough to sneak into an event with a deadly weapon, and then try to confront Chappelle on the stage?

Far-left Rolling Stone, however, talked to Lee’s brother and uncovered what could be a very good motive: “Lee’s brother Aaron Lee tells Rolling Stone that Isaiah has been in and out of shelters in Hollywood, California, for much of the last decade and has lots of friends in the transgender community.”

There you have it …

However, Lee’s actions should not be attributed to the DA. It is his duty to protect Los Angeles. Lee is protected by the defense attorney. This is how the system was designed to be adversarial. As a normal person, I oppose district attorneys charging people excessively. Charging Lee w
