Alec Baldwin handed his cellphone to Long Island police on Friday, nearly a month after authorities obtained a warrant for it following the shooting at the film set of “Rust.” Officials said that the incident occurred almost a month ago.

The 63-year-old actor surrendered his phone — which is believed to contain information about the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in October — to the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office Friday morning, a spokesman for the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office told The Post.

” They will extract the data and then hand over the phone to us,” stated Juan Rios, Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office public info officer Juan Rios.

Rios stated that not all of the data on the star’s cell phone will be available during the probe.

” There will be exempt information that is not relevant to the investigation. These include attorney-client privilege materials and communications between Mr. Baldwin’s attorney, as well as spousal confidential information .”

The handover takes place one day after the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office stated that the phone had not been handed over to authorities .”

Police in New Mexico got a warrant for the cellphone on Dec. 16 and the case’s lead detective quickly notified Baldwin’s attorney, police said.

But Baldwin didn’t turn it over for several weeks. This forced Santa Fe authorities to to team up with Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office last Wednesday to get it.

The actor uploaded an Instagram video on Jan. 8 in which he stated that he only wanted his private communications to be protected.

” Any suggestion that I’m not complying with orders or requests regarding my phone is bulls– Baldwin stated in the video that it was a fabrication.
